It’s Time for Some “Moonshot” Philanthropy

The challenges facing contemporary society are enormous.  Think about helping to solve hunger, homelessness, climate change, disease (including pandemics), gun violence, income inequality, discrimination, threats to democracy, education, environmental degradation and so much more. Traditional philanthropic investments have been working for decades to make a dent in solving these problems.  In some cases, much progress…

In 2010, I started The DeBoskey Group to help people, foundations and businesses make smarter, more strategic and more impactful decisions about their philanthropy.  Since then, I have had the remarkable opportunity to work with individuals, families and corporate leaders to help them strategically deploy millions of dollars into the nonprofit sector.  It has been a joyful, inspiring and rewarding journey and I am grateful to my colleagues and clients for making it possible.

As of January 1, 2023, The DeBoskey Group is no longer accepting new clients and is in the process of winding down consulting services with existing clients. Fortunately, my trusted colleagues, Carey Wirtzfeld and Nancy Lippe, have started their own philanthropy advising practice and many of our clients are transitioning their work to the new firm.  Please check out PhilanthropyConnect and reach out to Nancy or Carey if you’re interested in learning more about what they can do for you, your family, business or foundation.

As for me, I’m not “retiring.” Rather, I’m redirecting my energy to some new projects in the personal, nonprofit and for-profit arenas.  I also look forward to making some “good trouble.” I hope to have more to report to you soon about these projects.  In the meantime, thank you very much for your friendship, trust and confidence.
